Lily Jane Collins (born 18 March 1989) is a British-American actress and model. Born in Guildford, Surrey and raised in Los Angeles, Collins began performing on the BBC sitcom Growing Pains at age two. In the late 2000s, Collins began acting and modeling more regularly, and had career breakthroughs with her performance in the sports-drama film The Blind Side, which was the third highest grossing film of 2009. Collins has played Fantine in the BBC miniseries adaptation of Les Miserables (2018-2019), and since 2020, he has played Emily Cooper in the Netflix series Emily in Paris. [1] For the latter, she received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress - Television Series Music or Comedy. She debuted writing with Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me (2017), in which she discussed her struggles with mental health, including an eating disorder she experienced as a teenager. [2]

Her maternal grandfather was a Canadian Jewish immigrant who owned a men's clothing store in Beverly Hills, California for many years. [5] [6] [7] [8] Collins is the half-sister of musician Simon Collins and actress Jolie Collins from her father's first marriage, and she has two younger brothers from her father's third marriage. Her uncle is the cartoonist Clive Collins. 

 After her parents' divorce in 1996, when she was six, Collins moved with her mother to Los Angeles. [9] [10] He graduated from Harvard-Westlake School and attended the University of Southern California, majoring in broadcast journalism. [11] In 2007, she debuted at the Ball des Debutentes in Paris. As a teenager, Collins suffered from an eating disorder, which she later wrote in her book Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me. [13] 

Collins began acting in the BBC series Growing Pains at age two. In 2009, Collins appeared in two episodes of the teen drama series 90210, including the finale of the first season. Later that year, Collins made her breakthrough in The Blind Side, co-starring Lee Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock). The film was a commercial success, [16] [17] making over $ 250 million at the box office and making it the highest grossing sports drama of all time. 

 In 2011, she played Lucy, the daughter of a warrior priest in Thriller Priest, [19] alongside Paul Betani.  In 2012, Collins played Snow White in Mirror Mirror, an adaptation of the fairy tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, with Julia Roberts starring as the Evil Queen Clementianna.
